Prague has recently seen a surge in tourism. This small place lies in the country of Czech Republic, one of the top safest countries in the world.
Many people are over the idea of going to Prague, we discuss here is it worth or just another hype that can be better let go.
Well, we had also similar questions when we saw sudden surge in Prague tourism and Prague being covered as the best destination in many leading traveling Mags around us. Honestly, we were skeptical of the truths. But we must say this city has managed to influence not us but many.
P.S. – Before going ahead, remember that Prague has always crowds and people packed in everywhere so make sure you plan accordingly.
Vogue magazine featured Prague and soon it was all over followed by lonely planet and likes. Prague offers the European beer and has some pretty nice medieval architecture and beautiful picturesque views.
We cover TOP 7 places below and whether they are time or best left.
Charles Bridge (Worth the hype? / Let go?)
Yes it’s absolutely stunning. The views are going to flabbergast you. So it’s definitely worth the hype but there’s a catch provided you don’t you go early (yes before 8 am), you will be trapped in human stampede, if you want to avoid it all silently and properly, you have to take the charge. Enjoy and have fun.
Prague Castle (Worth the hype? / Let go?)
This is a ridiculously huge castle with lot to do yet feels so less. It could take ages to move with crowd’s pace to complete all work. At night it has much more to do with many more shops and acts. Yes, it’s worth the hype but be prepared for huge tourist inflow to slow you down and have enough money as it’s chargeable to enter.
St. Vitus Cathedral (Worth the hype? / Let go?)
This one’s easy to answer, yes x100 it’s definitely worth the hype. Most gorgeous and beautiful cathedral in Europe. But again the catch is same, if you are claustrophobic or not use to huge crowds, then again same, it’s not for you & for god’s sake keep cash as cards may not be accepted everywhere.
Prague Astronomical Clock (Worth the hype? / Let go?)
We might be a bit harsh or sound rude here but you can really Let go this place. The main reason is not that the place has any fault, no it’s beautiful. I mean whole Prague is beautiful but the crowds can be too much and there’s lot better places around. Obviously you can walk here or take an electric line on rent. But thing is same, its hugely crowded so multiply the waiting time to 10. So, if crowds are less its worth.
Old town square (Worth the hype? / Let go?)
This is an epitome for beautiful medieval architecture, lovely beach views and lots of restaurants and cafes around. It’s worth the hype even though there’s rush and you might not get even a place to sit.
Dancing house (Worth the hype? / Let go?)
An old architectural building for good views on top floors (tightly packed with selfie sticks all around & need to pay few euros to enter or drink). This place can again be let go as there are other cool places to hang out at and see views. The place at rooftop in small and is not very much maintained. So yes not worth the hyped hype.
Vysehrad (Worth the hype? / Let go?)
This is favorite place for locals and is less crowded so that means less hustle and bustle. It’s definitely Worth the hype. Go inside the cathedral or go past for a walk across cemetery. Then it’s a fortress on top of hill, where breathtaking views of the city are visible and that’s the best part. Also has some amazing tombstones (basically sculptures).
So, in short, the answer is yes it’s a wonderful place to visit. It’s worth the hype just look for ways to avoid crowd and keep loose cash with you.
