Cape point is said to be the land where 2 ocean meet. South African guides claim that this is where Indian Ocean & Atlantic Ocean meet. While the claim is not totally true but the cape point has more to it. Read on to find the tourist attractions at Cape Point where thousands of them flock regularly and we will also check the claim made by SA guides. Cape SA, Cape Chile & Cape Australia were needed to be crossed in past in order to successfully circumnavigate the globe. Many famous historic travelers like Vasco De Gama, Magellan etc. have all done this.
Cape point or merely Cape of good hope is the southernmost point (South West) in the Table Mountain national park of SA. But in reality it’s little far from the point where 2 oceans meet. This might be confusing but is a true remark. Cape Agulhas is the real point but it does not get its rightful credit, thanks to the 150 odd Kilometers or around 3 hours’ drive from Cape of good hope. Cape Agulhas is neither strategically at right point and gets only a few visitors. But Cape point is a pretty awesome tourist destination. People from all countries and age visit this tourist friendly place.
Start your trip early morning and keep at least 2 days for this trip. Huge oceans, beautiful beaches, wildlife, wild flowers are some of the things that one will frequently see during the visit.
What are the Tourist Attractions at Cape point –
There are many beautiful and awesome tourist attractions all over the place which should not be missed. A good guide can increase the chances of more hidden place and information which is sometimes not accessible to common man. First is the Cape Point National reserve and can be commuted in different ways but we recommend going on foot as the trek is easy and not so difficult though you need some agility and endurance. The trek offers marvelous views of sea, sea greenish plants and vibrant atmosphere. There are 2 treks, the Atlantic side is easy along the beach and offers panoramic view of sea and coastal plains while the 2nd one false trek is exciting and gripping. One can also go by cable car if can’t walk. The views and scenery will make you flabbergasted. Traces of wildlife can be seen like wild ostriches, baboons, a few birds’ species. The Boulder’s Penguin Colony is the next stop you should be heading for or a drive by can be done to experience it. Seals can also be seen on a drive by. Depending on the season and weather you are travelling. If vegetation is less in dry winter (May onward), more water holes are visible. Stop by the ostrich farm to feed them (loved by children) Combining other Attractions below
